Fleischkuchle - German Meat Ball Recipe



1 pound of lean ground beef
1 onion
1 old roll or toast bread
2 garlic cloves
2 tablespoons of mustard
3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
1 egg
2 spoons of dill


1. Chop onions, soak roll/bread in water. After water is soaked, press the water out as much as possible.

2. Mix ground beef, roll, onions, finely chopped or pressed garlic, mustard and egg. To mix the best, use your hands.

3. Let mix stand in fridge for 15 minutes

4. Heat oil in a large skillet, put breadcrumbs on 1-plate and sesame seeds on a 2nd plate. Form 1-2 inches diameter patties, roll in breadcrumbs, then in the sesame seeds. The smaller the patties the more crunch you get.

5. Put patties in pan and fry for 5 minutes, then flip for another 2-3minutes.

And its ready to eat!. Great with Swabian potato salad or gravy and mashed potatoes.
